Food

While I wouldn't exactly present 'exotic' as a descriptor for Scottish cuisine, it certainly does have its quirks. Your stomach will go through a period of adjustment in the first place because many of the chemicals, dyes, antibiotics, hormones and other nasties that the USA allows in its food are not allowed in foods consumed in Europe. As a result, you will be consuming natural substitutes for these as well as ingredients that you may never have encountered before.

Personally, I find Scottish fare absolutely delicious, and I hope that you will too. In this section you'll find the classic Scottish dishes that are po just about anywhere you go, as well as items already familiar to you that go by a different name in the UK. I've put ** next to items which are particularly tasty.
